Yah for you. I hope you didn't feel too homesick reading it. There's a lot of Aussie sunshine in that list and I'm guessing it would be cooling down where you are.

I've often wondered about 37 on your list, having enough money to be truly satisfied. I'm not sure where that line is drawn. I've found that drawing that line somewhere usually results in the redrawing of another line once I've reached the first target. Part of that is that the value of money keeps changing, but part of that has to do with how I conceptualize security.

I used to think that line was $100,000 in savings. Now, I think it's $300,000 in savings. If and when I ever hit $300,000, I'm guessing I'll be drawing the line at $500,000. :-p

Where would that line be drawn for you?

Thanks for dropping by with chicken soup for the soul. I can't believe how lovely people have been and supportive. We're all strangers after all.

Christmas is hard and I am sorry you're both away and feel responsible for their lack of merrymaking. Maybe you just have to let them have it their way. Maybe they need to see that they need to be involved in the Christmas cheer. It's not a one way street.

Hey Katie - Yeh, I did feel a bit homesick actually, but with less than four months to go before I move back there, that's probably a good thing.

Christmas can be hard, with some members of my family being funny, it's made me think more about how I dearly want to start my own family. We can then celebrate as we please and other family members are more than welcome to join in. Lead by example, I think that's all you can do sometimes.

Hey Orchid - That's a very interesting question. Actually, I remember when I was doing this list, sitting and wondering about that particular one myself.

I'm not sure I have a line. I think about it sometimes, but I have a bit of a fear of money, or the lack of. I think I need to get over that before I'll ever feel comfortable with any amount of money.

It's funny actually, my husband feels comfortable with a lot less, and that just adds to my fear. The idea of letting go of an earning responsibility for a while, while we start our family when he was happy with less money than I was, terrified me. I think we have worked that out now (best to do it BEFORE), so all is well.

Mmmmm... did that actually answer your question?
