I find myself crossing my fingers and toes when changing something on my blog ( usually feel a need to shut my eyes as well )

Of course I forgive you southofreality! Your last comment was actually a good, gentle, kick up the pants. I've been meaning to change it for a very long time and actually have a blog designer working on a look for this and my other blog. The design process is taking a lot longer than I thought, but I think that's due to me being so picky....
Yes guzzisue, I also find myself crossing everything I can when making changes, but this time I can only really blame laziness. I thought, "I really should back this up first.... na... it's just a colour change... it'll all be OK..."
Glad you like the change anonymous! And no worries, I'll get things up again soon. Was probably good to get a bit of a shake up.
